Every October, Combai, in the province of Treviso, hosts the renowned Festa del Marrone IGP, celebrating the area's distinctive chestnut tradition.
To introduce younger visitors to the people, skills and traditions behind chestnut production, the local mascot Comby - a friendly hedgehog who has been guiding visitors through the surrounding trails and chestnut groves for years - became the protagonist of a new comic book.
I developed the project from concept to final artwork, creating "Comby e il marrone superstar", a 24-page full-colour booklet that tells the story of the people and crafts behind the Marrone di Combai. AD by Studio Radici.
